Supplications for Success in Exams

Exams can be a challenging time, and seeking help through supplications can provide comfort and guidance. Here are some powerful Islamic supplications to recite before, during, and after exams to seek Allah’s assistance and blessings.

Supplications Before the Exam:

1. دعاء قبل الامتحان
   • اللَّهمَّ لا سَهْلَ إلَّا ما جعَلْتَه سَهلًا وأنتَ تجعَلُ الحَزْنَ سَهلًا إذا شِئْتَ.
     • O Allah, nothing is easy except what You have made easy. If You wish, You can make the difficult easy.
2. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ في قَلْبِي نُورًا، وفي بَصَرِي نُورًا، وفي سَمْعِي نُورًا، وعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا، وعَنْ يَسارِي نُورًا، وفَوْقِي نُورًا، وتَحْتي نُورًا، وأَمامِي نُورًا، وخَلْفِي نُورًا، واجْعَلْ لي نُورًا.
   • O Allah, place light in my heart, in my sight, in my hearing, on my right, on my left, above me, beneath me, in front of me, and behind me, and make me a light.
3. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ علَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وعلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كما صَلَّيْتَ علَى آلِ إبْرَاهِيمَ، إنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ علَى مُحَمَّدٍ، وعلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كما بَارَكْتَ علَى آلِ إبْرَاهِيمَ، إنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ.
   • O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Glorious.
4. حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ ونِعْمَ الوَكِيلُ.
   • Allah is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs.
5. اللهم اكفنا ما أهمَّنا، وسهّل أمورنا، وافتح لنا بالحق وأنت خير الفاتحين. اللهم ألهمنا الصواب، وسدِّد يميننا، وبارك لنا في أفهامنا، وأوقاتنا. اللهمَّ إني أستودعك ما حفظتُ، وما فهمت، فرُدَّهُ إلينا عند الحاجة إليه.
   • O Allah, suffice us in what worries us, make our affairs easy, open for us the doors of truth, for You are the best opener. O Allah, inspire us with correctness, guide us, bless our understanding and our time. O Allah, I entrust to You what I have memorized and understood, return it to us when we need it.

Supplications During the Exam:

1. دعاء أثناء الامتحان
   • وَقُل رَّبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ.
     • And say, “My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.”
2. وَقُل رَبِّ أَدخِلني مُدخَلَ صِدقٍ وَأَخرِجني مُخرَجَ صِدقٍ وَاجعَل لي مِن لَدُنكَ سُلطانًا نَصيرًا.
   • And say, “My Lord, let me enter through an entrance of truth and exit through an exit of truth and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.”
3. قالَ رَبِّ اشرَح لي صَدري وَيَسِّر لي أَمري وَاحلُل عُقدَةً مِن لِساني* يفقَهوا قَولي.**
   • My Lord, expand for me my chest and ease for me my task and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.
4. حَسبِيَ اللَّـهُ لا إِلـهَ إِلّا هُوَ عَلَيهِ تَوَكَّلتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ العَرشِ العَظيمِ.
   • Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him, I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.
5. لا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ العَظِيمُ الحَلِيمُ، لا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ العَرْشِ العَظِيمِ، لا إلَهَ إلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ ورَبُّ العَرْشِ الكَرِيمِ.
   • There is no deity except Allah, the Most Great, the Most Forbearing. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the Noble Throne.
6. اللهُ اللهُ ربِّي، لا أُشرِكُ به شيئًا.
   • Allah, Allah is my Lord; I do not associate anything with Him.
7. لا إلهَ إلَّا أنتَ سُبحانَكَ إنِّي كُنتُ من الظالِمينَ.
   • There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
8. اللهمَّ إنّي أسألك حكمةً، ورُشداً، وسداداً، ومعونةً، وتوفيقاً. اللهمَّ إنّي أعوذ بك من الزلل، والنسيان، وسوء الفهم، وضعف الحفظ. اللهمّ بارك وقتي، وحفظي، وفهمي. اللهمَّ أنِر بصيرتي، ووفقني لما تحب وترضى.
   • O Allah, I ask You for wisdom, guidance, soundness, assistance, and success. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from mistakes, forgetfulness, poor understanding, and weak memory. O Allah, bless my time, memory, and understanding. O Allah, enlighten my insight, and guide me to what You love and are pleased with.

Supplications for Success and Excellence:

1. دعاء للنجاح والتوفيق في الامتحان
   • اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا آتِنَا في الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، وفي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، وقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ.
     • Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
2. اللَّهمَّ إنِّي أسأَلُكَ عِلمًا نافعًا، ورِزْقًا طيِّبًا، وعمَلًا مُتقَبَّلًا.
   • O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
3. اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي، وَاذْكُرْ، بالهُدَى هِدَايَتَكَ الطَّرِيقَ، وَالسَّدَادِ، سَدَادَ السَّهْمِ.
   • O Allah, guide me and make me steadfast, and remind me to be rightly guided in the way and to be accurate in aiming.
4. اللهمَّ إنِّي أسألُك من الخيرِ كلِّه عاجلِه وآجلِه ما علِمتُ منه وما لم أعلمُ، وأعوذُ بك من الشرِّ كلِّه عاجلِه وآجلِه ما علِمتُ منه وما لم أعلمُ، اللهمَّ إنِّي أسألُك من خيرِ ما سألَك به عبدُك ونبيُّك، وأعوذُ بك من شرِّ ما عاذ به عبدُك ونبيُّك.
   • O Allah, I ask You for all good, immediate and delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know. And I seek refuge with You from all evil, immediate and delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and prophet asked of You, and I seek refuge with You from the worst of what Your servant and prophet sought refuge from.

5. اللَّهمَّ إني أعوذُ بك من علمٍ لا ينفعُ، وقلبٍ لا يخشعُ، ودعاءٍ لا يُسمعُ، ونفسٍ لا تشبعُ.
   • O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, a heart that does not humble, a supplication that is not heard, and a soul that is never satisfied.
6. اللهمَّ إنا نسألكَ عزائمَ مغفرتكَ، ومنجياتِ أمركَ، والسلامةَ من كل إثمٍ، والغنيمةَ من كلِّ برٍّ، والفوزَ بالجنةِ، والنجاةَ من النارِ.
   • O Allah, we ask You for the resolve to obey Your commands, the success that saves from every evil, the attainment of every good, the victory in entering Paradise, and salvation from the Fire.
7. اللهمَّ انفعْني بما علَّمتني وعلِّمْني ما يَنفعُني وزِدْنِي علمًا والحمدُ للهِ على كلِّ حالٍ وأعوذُ باللهِ من عذابِ النارِ.
   • O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, teach me what will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge. Praise be to Allah in all circumstances, and I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the Fire.
8. اللهمَّ اصنعني على عينِكَ، واصطنعني لنفسك، واستخدمني لرضاك. اللهمَّ مكِّن لي، واجعلني من الذين إذا مكَّنتَ لهم؛ أقاموا الصلاة، وآتوا الزكاة، وأَمَروا بالمعروف، ونَهَوْا عن المنكر. وصلِّ اللهم وسلم على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين.
   • O Allah, make me under Your watchful care, prepare me for Your service, and use me for Your pleasure. O Allah, grant me the ability to establish prayer, give zakat, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong. Blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
